Committed to Making an Impact and Leaving a Legacy in Our Local Community
Asset Preservation Strategies, Inc., (APS) is committed to making an impact and leaving a legacy in the local San Diego community.
Leading from our core values of philanthropy, family, and independence, and taking a cue from the generosity of our most charitable clients, we believe it’s important to stay involved and support causes that make our local community a better place for everyone.
Our president, Monica Szakos Cramer, is passionate about giving back and giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. Combining her love for animals and the love that they give humans in return, Monica has made it her and APS’s priority to support local Humane Societies, rescue groups, and assistance dog groups through donations and volunteering.

October 2019 – Sponsorship of Rosa. Rescued by Animal Hope & Wellness
Rosa’s Story
Rosa helplessly laid in a ditch in Mexico waiting for someone to come to her rescue.
This little girl is Rosa. She was living in Mexico when a lady found her lying in a ditch all alone. Rosa was so scared, unable to walk, clearly suffering from neuroglial trauma. Though her rescuer had limited financial means, she did everything she could to help Rosa, including daily physical therapy. She wanted the best for Rosa, and as hard as it was for her, she allowed Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation bring her to the United States to help improve her life.
Not only is she suffering from neurological damage, but she has displaced sockets in both hind legs. She has level 4 extremity on one leg; and the other is a 2/4. Though she is not in pain, we would love for her to be able to walk. She is a candidate have surgery for the repair, but the bigger issue is her neurological damage right now. She is currently on medication, supplements and a special diet to help with her joints and neurological damage—however, one of her eyes is unresponsive to movement and we need to get her an MRI.
Rosa has come a long way from a ditch in Mexico and we don’t want to let her down.

We at APS are honored that we were recently able to donate to Promises2Kids. This wonderful charity helps provide love and safety to children that have been saved from homes where they have experienced abuse or neglect. For over 35 years, they have provided current and former foster youth in San Diego County with the tools, opportunities, and guidance they need to address the circumstances that brought them into foster care, overcome the difficulties of their past, and grow into healthy, happy and successful adults. If you would like to learn more about them or donate, click the link here!
San Diego Food Bank
We are honored to have been able to help the San Diego Food Bank recently. This charity does incredible work to keep families and individuals in need fed with nutritious food, advocate for the hungry, and educate the public about hunger-related issues. It is part of the largest hunger relief program in San Diego and feeds 350,000 people every month on average. If you’d like to learn more about them or donate, click the link here!
